This release sees two amen tracks from Smyla in collaboration with Terrorcell and ASL. The Lure, with Terrorcell, is a dark and heavy track, combining gritty reeces with switching breaks - reminiscent of the early amen Drum & Bass, this tracks brings it all. The influence of Terrorcell's signature sound is apparent throughout the track and a great addition to the Mute:8 catalogue.
Dark Essence, featuring ASL, is a more ambient amen track. ASL made his debut with Mute:8 recordings back in 2011 with another Smyla collab, We Mute:8. Dark Essence brings more of ASL's musical elements, culminating in a track that brings you on a journey from start to finish.
Over the past 12 months, Smyla's own sound has progressed more and more, with the quality of breaks, edits and structure showing through. This release is definitely one for those who appreciate the darker side of Drum & Bass.
