| Mute:8 Recordings was originally set up in 2003 by four DJ's / producers with a like minded philosophy of producing and playing
Drum & Bass that breaks the mould and put on events that produce the vibe and atmosphere that brings people back for more.
In the summer of 2003 the original launch night was put on in Northampton, followed by more events in Leicester, Rugby,
Nottingham, Sheffield and more.
In mid 2005, KLR, AlleyKat & Coldshoulder started a radio show on KunninMindz, which ran on a Friday night
between 7 - 10pm. This show regularly included guest DJ's, including Dyazide, Smyla & Cypha.
In the summer of 2007 the radio show on KunninMindz ended and Mute:8 was effectively put on hold,
as the members of the group decided to pursue different directions.
Relaunched in 2009 by two of the original members, DJ KLR & AlleyKat, Mute:8 Recordings became a medium to host mixes and to offer
a range of free tracks for digital download. During 2010 - 2011 Hostile MC began to push his unique vocal style and was soon taken
on by Anger Management and became the resident host MC at Therapy Sessions London, alongside ASL.
Building on this, Hostile MC and DJ KLR set about pushing Mute:8 Recordings forward as a full digital record label. Finally, by the
end of October 2011, Mute:8 recordings saw its first ever mainstream release, kicking off with the mighty Scanners track from BKEY.
With the tracks from established artists, including BKEY, Smyla, Friske, Eiton, Treo, The Sect, Script, Hostile MC and many more
Mute:8 Recordings is becoming an established label with a steady stream of quality releases.
The 2012 release schedule will see new material every 4 - 6 weeks, with a number of new projects including Hostile's brainchild
the "Tech Force EP" and KLR's first mainstream release.
